PEUGEOT 304 CABRIOLETS : H

HAA 699K

1972

CORN YELLOW

PRE-S VERSION

MOT : 2017 PASS

TAX : SORN

It is uber rare to find a pre-S 304 Cabriolet looking in such wonderful condition as this, so perhaps no surprise that it attracted 25 bids when it appeared for sale on Ebay in 2022. The winning bid, a shade over £7000, is arguably modest for such a cherished and well cared-for example.

This lucky 304 S was professionally and extensively restored by Airfield Classic Cars, Devon. Off road since about 2011, it left the restorers in 2019 looking wonderful again with a fresh coat of Metallic Grey (code 1321). See the restoration story here : www.airfieldclassics.co.uk

This is a good looking 1975 Azure Blue 304 cabriolet seems to have been off road since 2007. It appears to be in fine shape on this old photo, but who knows what it's like now. Is it tucked away somewhere being restored I wonder?

The poor little pug sold for around £150 via Ebay in January 2019, one assumes for parts only. Nevertheless I'm keeping it the survivor section for now until I know it's fate. It would have been one of the last RHD imports when new.

A mystery this one. Sub frame corrosion appears to have been fixed to get it though a second MOT in 2010, but no further MOTs have been recorded since. Does it say 'LISA' on the plate?

The owner of HPL got in touch in 2019. Having owned this (off road) Cabriolet for over 30 years, he was deciding on either a full restoration or a sale to the right buyer. I hope to be able to share images and more details in the future.
