PEUGEOT 304 CABRIOLETS : K

KAD 267N

1974

MOSS GREEN

S VERSION

MOT : 2014

TAX : SORN

This is probably the most 'famous' Peugeot 304 Cabriolet in the UK. Valued at around £7k in 2013, it was featured in the BBC's last ever Jeremy Clarkson 'Top Gear' programme broadcast in 2015. A little more about that here.

KCR 331L

1974

AZURE BLUE (TBC)

S VERSION (TBC)

MOT : 2010 PASS

TAX : SORN

KCR changed hands 2 or 3 times in 2017, eventually ending up with a buyer who had purchased several very rough 304 Cabriolets (including one of mine), intending to make a least one good car from his collection of neglected 304s.

KEH 431N

1974

METALLIC BEIGE

S VERSION

MOT : NO HISTORY

TAX : 1995

Advertised on Ebay in 2018 and again in 2019, the sellers described KEH as in need of welding repairs to the floor, boot area and sills, plus welding or replacement of front chassis. The 2019 buyer hopes to restore it, using MGK 184P (too far gone to be saved) as a donor for parts.

KFT 667P

1975

BLUE (NON STANDARD)

S VERSION

MOT : 2017 PASS

TAX : 2021

Welcome to the multicoloured world of KFT. Until the 2000s it was listed as Gold with DVLA. When purchased by a previous owner in 2008 it was White. They tell me they had it resprayed to a Citroen SM Green (and found no trace of Gold). It's 2016 owner tells me it is Duck Egg Blue. I'll just list it as Blue! :)

KGF 819N

1975

AZURE BLUE

S VERSION

MOT : 2018 PASS

TAX : 2021

A contender for best UK 304 perhaps? In the shortlist for sure. Advertised on Car and Classic in 2015 for £7995, the seller described in detail a complete nut and bolt restoration carried out over 5 years. The result is beautiful. Purchased in 2017 (with restoration DVD) by a buyer in Sussex.

KHO 805N

1975

METALLIC BEIGE

S VERSION

MOT : 2020 PASS

TAX : 2022

After being off road for several years, KHO sold for £1100 in 2016. It needed extensive welding, mechanical and trim work. The 2016 purchaser set about stripping the car completely for a full restore, and it passed an MOT in 2020. No doubt it looks better now than it did in these older images.

KJO 730N

1975

ALASKAN WHITE

S VERSION

MOT : 2015 FAIL

TAX : SORN

KJO was advertised for a shade under £4000 in July 2013, complete with a new MOT. According to the seller it had been resprayed in 2000 and extensive work had been done by Darius Bunch (ex 304 specialist). Unfortunately an MOT fail in 2015 revealed structural corrosion issues.

KLL 697N

1974

METALLIC GREY (TBC)

S VERSION

MOT : 2021 PASS

TAX : 2021

KLL sold to a winning bid of £3000 on Ebay in 2019. According to the seller it had been resprayed in around 2016, and not started for a couple of years. Since then it has been in the hands of Cromer Classics for restoration, including a colour change to Silver / Metallic Grey (Photos to follow).

KNO 620N

1975

RED (TBC)

S VERSION (TBC)

MOT : NO RECORDS

TAX : 1995

I know nothing about KNO other than from a previous owner, who got in touch to tell me he sold it in the 1990s. If you know anything about it, please get in touch to help me update this listing - thanks.

KPH 564P

1975

AZURE BLUE (TBC)

S VERSION (TBC)

MOT : NO RECORDS

TAX : 1992

KPH was advertised in Spring 2017 as one of a collection of four 304 Cabriolets in need of complete restoration. I don't know of it's fate. There's always a chance it might be restored, but it could also be used as a donor for parts.

KSU 678P

1975

ALASKAN WHITE

S VERSION

MOT : NO RECORDS

TAX : 1996

KSU was advertised in Spring 2017 as one of a collection of four 304 Cabriolets in need of complete restoration. The initial asking price was £1950 ono; I don't know the final sale price. The 2019 owner, near Chester, has been in touch and is looking to restore KSU to its former glory.

KYA 222N

1975

METALLIC GREY

S VERSION

MOT : 2021 PASS

TAX : 2022

Originally sold by Gliddons, a Peugeot dealer in Somerset, KYA was offered for sale in 2012 with an asking price of £7995. The seller described the car as in 'fantastic condition' with 3 owners, 45000 miles and a good history of paperwork.

KYK 709K

1972

BLUE (NON STANDARD)

PRE-S VERSION

MOT : NO RECORDS

TAX : 1991

A rare Pre-S version, this 304 Cabriolet was advertised on Ebay in the Summer of 2019 for around £5000 (final sale value not known). Described by the seller as dry garaged for many years, and having had all new panels in 1988 but in need of some further welding mainly to floor and sills.

KYN 158K

1972

CORAL RED

PRE-S VERSION

MOT : NO RECORDS

TAX : 1998

A past owner of KYN tells me the car was sold to him with a fake MOT and was, as he puts it, 'a dodgy car'. Reported to me in 2017 as stored in a garage since 2002 awaiting restoration, one can only hope it can be put back to former glory one day. Current condition unknown.

KYU 874K

1972

WHITE (NON STANDARD)

PRE-S VERSION

MOT : 2012 PASS

TAX : 2012

KYU started life in Ireland, was brought to Devon, and went on a road trip to Rome and back via France and Spain. In around 2015 the 'Ultimate Wheels' TV show got their hands on it for a restyle including spats, oversized tyres, led lights and new grille. In 2022 it was for sale back in Italy. An interesting life!

KYX 975K

1972

ALASKAN WHITE

S VERSION

MOT : 2011 PASS

TAX : 2021

Advertised in 2021 after extensive restoration, and with an asking price of around £8500, here is KYX looking in splendid shape. Described by the seller as rust free with all new panels, this lucky Cab appears to have been given a new lease of life after being rescued in poor shape back in 2016.
